DEE'S STORY
MANY years ago I saw Dee for sale
out of Wilmeth Kennels.
Dee is line bred on ARA out of
Dolly (CH Starswept's She's A Doll),
lines I have always admired.
I informed my husband that I was
thinking of purchasing Dee and he said, "no way".
My dad who was visiting at the
time said he would help me purchase her if I could find someplace to keep
her. I then put in a call to Anne Shope and asked her if she would like
to co-own a bitch with me? She said she was not really interested but after
doing a little research, called me back and said lets do it!!
Anne talked with Judy Wilmeth and
we arranged o have Dee Dee shipped in.
Dee was not sure she liked any
of this arrangement the day Anne and I went to pick her up at the airport.
Per our arrangement, Anne would keep Dee at their house and we would try
and put a title on her. Dee turned out to be a velcro dog, hated showing,
was not interested in sheep and was to soft to do obedience, not that we
did not try!
We then decided we would breed
Dee so the search for a husband started. I wanted to breed her to ZACK
(ASCA AKC CH Zuzax's Coupzax), my stud dog, this was my purpose in buying
her. Anne did not want to breed blue merle to blue merle so I agreed, figuring
the lines were worth having even if I could not breed her to Zack.
We looked all over the country
and had narrowed it down to a few males. We were willing to pay stud fee's
shipping etc.
then I got a call from Anne stating
"Why are we going to ship, pay stud fee etc., when we have one of the best
studs in New Mexico right here".
I agreed with her 100% and said
lets go ahead and breed to Zack!
Dee came here to be bred and Joe
met her and fell in love with her!!!
I asked Anne if I could just keep
her here and whelp her out. Anne agreed!
Dee delivered a litter of beautiful
pups, we were thrilled with the consistency and quality of all of the pups.
When it came time to name the pups,
Anne had applied for the kennel name of Legends and it had been approved.
I was still waiting for Los Suenos to be approved and was NOT going to
place Private Stoc on any pups (I had been putting this kennel name on
all my pups after being talked into doing so). We placed the Legends kennel
name on most of the pups and when my kennel name was approved, Los Suenos
went on a couple of pups.
This litter of 6, 5 girls and 1
boy are the first 6 pups on this page and we are very, very proud of them!!!!
